Correlation of pulmonary artery dimensions between endobronchial ultrasound and CT scan.

چکیده
Th e dimensions of the pulmonary artery (PA) on CT scan and the ratio of the main PA to ascending aorta (AA) have been shown to correlate with the diagnosis and severity of pulmonary hypertension. 1 Th e mediastinal vessels are easily visualized with convex probe endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) as the depth of penetration with EBUS is approximately 5 cm; also, the vessels run adjacent to the airway, and there is no interposition of aerated lung between airways and vessels. 2 Whether the measurements of PA dimensions performed by EBUS correlate with CT scan measurements of the PA remains unknown.

Radial Probe Endobronchial Ultrasound for Peripheral Pulmonary Lesions: Initial Experience in an Indian Tertiary Healthcare Centre
Introduction : Diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary nodules is confusing; therefore, an accurate and safe lung biopsy can prevent unnecessary invasive diagnostic procedures. This study soughtto study the diagnostic yield, sensitivity, specificity, and negative and positive predictive values (NPV and PPV) of radial probe endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)-guided biopsy for peripheral pulmonary lesions...
متن کاملA Case of Pulmonary Artery Hydatid Cyst Observed on Endobronchial Ultrasound (Case Report)
Hydatid cyst (HC) is a parasitic disease that may involve many organs, especially the lung and the liver. Pulmonary artery location of the hydatid cyst is extremely rare, but it may cause life-threatening complications. We report a case of a hydatid cyst that completely filled the left main pulmonary artery and its distal part without cardiac involvement. Thoracic computed tomography showed fil...
متن کاملUnusual Presentation of Pulmonary Hematoma after Blunt Chest Wall Trauma
A 25-year-old man was admitted in hospital due to right side hemopneumothorax secondary to car accident. A chest tube was inserted. During the hospitalization days, chest CT scan revealed a 3cmx3 cm oval-shaped density located in the right upper lobe. Since he was in a good general condition, he was discharged from hospital after removal of chest tube and a follow-up chest CT-scan was recommend...
متن کاملPulmonary artery tumour-embolism diagnosed by endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration.
A 61-yr-old female was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. She had a history of poorly differentiated thyroid cancer with follicular cell phenotype, and had first been treated in 2006 by thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine-131. Local relapse (cervical nodes) had occurred within 3 months and required five cycles of chemotherapy, consisting of cisplatin and doxorubicin, followed by cervical radio...
متن کاملEvaluation of CT angiography findings in the patients with clinical diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism
Background and Aim: Pulmonary thromboembolism is an important clinical problem in the patients after major surgeries and is often difficult to diagnose because of nonspecific clinical symptoms. Diagnosis of pulmonary embolism is based on medical imaging methods. The aim of this study was to evaluate the results of CT pulmonary angiographies of the patients with primary clinical diagnosis of pul...
